Figure 1: This is the initial riff. It is played twice. Note that there the B string is allowed to ring for a moment when picked at the first fret... then hammer on to the third fret. There is a pause before the "2-2h3p2", and the B string is then hammered at the third fret.

Figure 2 shows the interval between the initial riff and the first verse... the B,G,D strings are picked at the second fret, slid to the first fret, picked at the first fret and then slid to the second where that are picked again. When picking the G and D strings at the second fret, allow them to ring while you play on...
It's quite difficult to make out what Butler does where I have tabbed a "h7", but I think that's right.

Figure 3, basically works around the original riff. A lot of notes are left to ring out, (the major ones I have labelled). I also tried as best I could to match the lyrics to when the notes are played. It won't be exact, but it's roughly right (!) Once you have finished playing the first verse, restart figure 3, at the end of the second verse, head for figure 4:

Figure 5 represents the rest of the song, this riff is just repeated over and over. Seeing as this is gonna be a perfect tab, I might as well tell you that the riff begins on the words, INTRODUCING, SCI-FI, WHIPPING, CENTURY, INTRODUCING, INTRODUCING, INTRODUCING.

And seeing as that's the whole song covered, you can just sing along to all the "dying ums"
